  • Overview

    The Solutions Architect is a pre-sales technical professional with in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise within networking, wireless and unified communication solutions, with focus on the Cisco and Juniper product offerings. This position requires a self-motivated leader who will grow our field engineering and managed service offerings. The Solutions Architect will interact directly with customers and other members of the sales and technical teams to conduct detailed discoveries of existing customer environments and technology objectives and then design service solutions.

    Responsibilities

    • Regularly participate in sales conference calls and prospect visits.
    • Take the lead in pre-sales discussions, discovering and defining customer requirements surrounding field engineering and managed services solutions.
    • Design solutions for customers based on these discussions/discoveries.
    • Develop proposals and pricing that incorporate the designs that address clients’ specific business needs.
    • Contribute to meeting revenue goals by providing timely and ongoing reports and work efforts surrounding the opportunity pipeline.
    • Interface with sales and engineering teams.
    • Provide education to the sales team for new and existing solutions and/or services
    • Maintain certifications relevant to job role
    • Stay current with new and emerging technologies and assist in new solution development
    • Provide mentoring and professional development to other team members throughout the organization

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s Degree or equivalent and 3 plus years related experience in computer/systems engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
    • Two or more advanced Cisco are required: CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CIPCS, CIPT, CCIE or equivalent.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering or pre-sales, including designing and building complex infrastructures.
    • Ability to translate and communicate technical features and concepts into tangible benefits.
    • Previous experience creating quotes or Statements of Work (SOWs) with accuracy and in a timely manner.
    • Strong technical knowledge and direct experience with Cisco architectures: Borderless Networks, Datacenter networking, Wireless, and Security
    • Strong technical knowledge of capabilities or direct experience with Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless Solutions including a solid understanding of the concepts of VLANs and VPNs.
    • Strong technical knowledge of Wide & Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP and general networking.
    • Strong interpersonal skills are required, with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster, manage relationships across internal staff, customers and C-level executives and clients.
