    Responsibilities

     

    WHAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER US
    The Field Engineer serves as a member of Vology’s Field Operations team. The Field Engineer is primarily responsible for providing on-site support to Vology’s Managed Services customers as a technical subject matter expert. The Field Engineer also provides implementation support for professional and field services activities. The Field Engineer must have a diverse technical skillset as they will engage directly on-site with our customers to resolve technical needs and complete installations related to workstations, servers, networking device, and wireless.

     

    THE ROLE
    The Field Engineer is a key member of support for Vology’s customers. The Field Engineer will receive and resolve technical escalations from other Vology personnel and will travel to onsite customers locations as a representative of Vology. The Field Engineer must communicate and interface well with customers to truly understand their issues and needs. The Field Engineer must take ownership to resolve issues and identify root cause of problems, utilizing their own technical expertise to explain and resolve most issues independently. The Field Engineer will identify issues of higher complexity issues and escalate to appropriate Vology teams as required. Additionally, the Field Engineer will also perform installations, implementations, and other field and professional service activities.

    The Field Engineer will be instrumental in identifying and recommending opportunities for continuous process for our customers and internally. Additionally, the Field Engineer is responsible for providing company leadership timely and accurate reports, as well as ensuring all information and ticketing systems are updated completely, accurately, and timely while working in the field.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated well-rounded technical expertise in servers, workstation management, networking, firewalls, security, and wireless
    • Demonstrated experience in implementation, installation, and support of servers and workstations
    • Strong experience and understanding of routing and switching products and protocols
    • Ability to understand a wide array of technical needs and solutions to effectively support customer base
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and customer service skills• Ability to interact effectively with different levels of internal and external customers, and the ability to work well under pressure
    • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally within a 50-mile radius extensively; periodic overnight travel is required
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support customer needs; on call work is required
    • Ability to be versatile, flexible, and collaborative
    • Willingness and aptitude to stay up to date on existing and emerging technologies
    • Nicotine-free

     

    YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE
    • CompTIA Net + is a plus
    • Previous experience in IT, Managed Services, Professional Services, or Consulting preferred
    • Previous experience in an ITIL service model
