Overview

THE REASON YOU WAKE UP

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the management and overall performance (SLAs and productivity) of standard Vology warehouse functions, such as receiving; storage and distribution of inventory for sale, packaging supplies and miscellaneous COGS accessories; voice and data product testing lab; put away; refurbishment functions including finishing, painting and repair; and basic facilities management for all locations, while ensuring quality control to business operations and efficient and quality service to our customers. The Warehouse Manager works together with the senior management team in pursuit of operational excellence, continuous improvement and overall success within the warehouse function.  The position interacts with all departments within the organization and externally with outsourced vendors and customers, and occasionally packaging/shipping carriers.

 

DEFINING SUCCESS

  • Managing all warehouse activities and oversee all receiving and distribution operations.
  • Leading and supporting the warehouse team to meet the required service level agreements (SLA’s) established for the function, including but not limited to, motivating the team, fostering teamwork and establishing a sense of urgency and achieving all milestones
  • Preparing and analyzing operational reports for senior management and making recommendations to reduce errors, maximize efficiency and/or suggest ideas for continuous improvement
  • Researching special projects as assigned, including but not limited to changing ISO standards, electrostatic discharge, bin optimization, inventory management and creating a warehouse Business Continuity Program (BCP) as part of the enterprise-level BCP
  • Responsible for the daily oversight of Vology’s quality management system (ISO 9001:2008), including warehouse related CARs, PARs, and enterprise-wide audit coordination
  • Establishing and ensure safe work practices 
  • Develops and implements strategies for cost containment and profitability growth while ensuring compliance with all pertinent company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Periodically reviews policies and procedures to ensure they are operating effectively and are consistent with the company’s operating objectives.  Updates policies and procedures governing daily operations and risk mitigation
  • Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals)

GETTING THROUGH THE DOOR

  • Strong warehouse management experience including shipping/receiving, quality control, OSHA regulations and process improvement
  • Experience with operational practices such as ISO 9000, Six Sigma, Lean, TOC or alternatives is preferred
  • Experience with international shipping is imperative
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Ability to understand and analyze all aspects of the company's business plan and those of its competitors, and familiarity with financial modeling
  • Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
  • Must possess a strong ability to embrace and manage constant and consistent change
  • Must possess the ability to balance both strategic and tactical leadership and management styles
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently but also in collaborative teams to ensure the Company’s objectives are met
  • Excellent human relations, multitasking and communication skills
